Picturing the Unimaginable

"Picturing the unimaginable" is a project consisting of an exhibition and a graphic novel which depict a variety of perspectives on the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes.

My contribution, ‘Not in my back yard’, follows the troubling history of the Westerbork Camp in the Netherlands. Westerbork was originally planned and built by the Dutch as a refugee camp for Jewish people fleeing Nazi Germany. Discriminatory attitudes, racist stereotypes and scapegoating of refugees at the time share disturbing parallels with those of our world today.
