B.Carrot (Jerusalem, 1985) came to Amsterdam in 2006 to study at the Rietveld Academy and ended up staying in the Netherlands.
After writing and illustrating short stories and comics for several years, she moved to Brussels to complete a master's degree in graphic storytelling. In 2019, Carrot graduated Cum Laude from the Sint Lukas School of Art in Brussels. Her graduation project was her debut graphic novel Alle dagen ui (Days of onion), published by Soul Food Comics in 2020.
Her second graphic novel Uitweg (Way out) was published in 2024 by Oogachtend and was warmly recieved by both critics and the media. ‘Uitweg’ has been translated into several languages.
B. Carrot's work is politically and socially driven; she writes about topics such as Palestine, migration, border policy, and feminism.
Next to her own practice Carrot happily teaches at the ArtEz art academy in Zwolle.
She lives and works in Nijmegen.
